Haumovie fishing, photography and fun

Few and far between

Blog posts are few and far between these days. I hope to be able to change that, but circumstances may not allow me to.

I have loads to do. I was recently promoted (yay) meaning more work. Summer is coming and thus the lawn needs mowing and the garden needs tending in general - and we do have a sizeable garden.

Also photographs of anything other than our daughter are few and far between. Instead of desperately trying to make an effort to get some shots in my very scarce spare time, I just try to take some good shots of Minna instead.

Got this the other night and kinda like it:

Minna in north light from our skylight window.

On another note, Martin and I are planning to go fishing next Wednesday from his boat. Gonna try for the plaice in the area, but also looking for some cod, garfish and trout - if they are around, we'll catch them.

Things that have bothered me this week

One of those weeks and to top it, the weather has been rubbish.

Right now, my daughter won't sleep - keeping both my wife and me awake much longer that we would've liked.

Earlier it was the wind and the rain. Oh, and getting hit on the back of my hand while paintballing, which has left a sore bruise.

Monday I went to training and the regional paper was there with photographer. They sort of interviewed me and it's now online - no, I'm not going to post a link. Anyway, I look like an idiot, I failed entirely at saying something remotely intelligent and they spelled my name wrong.

Then another day and an email containing: "...I would have expected something more constructive, particularly from someone in your position", really really bothered me. What position is that, exactly?!?

Oh, and then there's also been a: "You are doing that wrong. Do it like this. It's much better and it's the way I do it.", which speaks for itself, really.

The system hard-drive on one of my computers also died this week only 1½ years old. May have to start an RMA on that, but it's only a 250Gb drive and I might as well not bother. I have a spare kicking about somewhere which I will have to dig out. Also, I lost my XP license - yes, it was an old XP setup - so will have to get ubuntu on there and try to learn how that works. It just takes time that I'd rather spend with my family or fishing instead.

Ride-on lawnmower needs new blades and the repair guy has about three weeks turnover time on that sort of thing. That means having to mow by hand with the old mower which is certainly not ride-on.
