Fishing vs. Badminton

In the past 4 years, I have played badminton with 3 other guys every monday night from september to april. We've had the shit hours 21-22 and with a 35 minute drive there, it meant I would be home past 23 every monday night. Now we have had enough and tried to get an earlier timeslot, but unfortunately to no avail. All the geezers who have played for the past 20 years are taking up all the good slots and thus we have decided not to play this coming season. I suppose that's just one of those good things that must come to an end.

Instead, I have decided to get some more fishing done, and what better way to do this than going every monday night.

Thus, henceforth you can find me on the coast near my home every monday night (weather permitting) trying for trout. We have at least 10 great spots all within 20 minutes drive and I aim to fish them all at least once this autumn and following spring.

Not only is this a free way to get some excercise, fresh air and possibly some fish, but it will also give me some valuable insigts on the local spots and hopefully which flies and lures will fish best in different conditions.

I will try to make a plan and structure my approach to the season. I might also set myself some targets regarding the use of home-tied flies vs. shop-bought, casting techniques and fishing through the spots.

I'll do my best to share my experiences here. Naturally, the camera will join me on most trips and this should also help me actually take some photos.

One of the guys from badminton has agreed to join me on some days and I hope that others will join me whenever possible. After all, catching something is more fun when you have someone to share it with.
